For me, the secret is making it real. I’m drawn to honest moments—the quick glance, the unguarded laugh, the quiet breath—and I frame them with care. You can’t fake emotion, so I start by building trust: simple direction, a calm presence, and space for people to be themselves. Once everyone’s at ease, I work like a fly on the wall—observing, anticipating, and catching the instant when feeling and light align. That’s when a photograph becomes more than a picture; it becomes a memory you can hold.
-
When I start a new project, I want to understand you and the story we’re telling. The questions shift depending on the work—headshots, weddings, personal portraits—but the goal is the same: get inside your vision so the images feel unmistakably yours.
About you
Who are you as a person?
What do you love to do for fun?
Any artists, films, or references that inspire you?
Look & feel
How should this read: professional/commercial/clean, cinematic, hyper-artistic, nostalgic, etc.?
What’s the “theme song” or soundtrack vibe?
Color or black & white—or a mix?
Setting
Urban or nature? Studio or location? Any meaningful spots we should consider?
Logistics (so the day runs smoothly)
Timeline, key moments, and any must-have shots?
Wardrobe and styling preferences; hair/makeup needs?
Intended use (website, print, press, social) and delivery deadlines?
From there, I build a simple plan that protects the experience and keeps the session relaxed. The better I understand you and your vision, the more honest—and memorable—the photographs become.

What I love most is the connection—photography lets me meet people where they are and honor what’s real. There’s beauty across the whole spectrum of life: joy, quiet, even grief. I’m drawn to those honest moments when we’re our true selves, not the version we think we should be. That’s when an image can feel like recognition.
There’s a line I live by: do what you love, and it never feels like work. My father was an artist and introduced me to photography and film when I was young; it’s been part of me ever since. It took me forty years to make it my focus, and I’m grateful every day that I finally did.

I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak. For twenty years, I put it to work building luxury boutique hotels and restaurants—helping others shape standout experiences. After a crazy, exciting, and often high-pressure two decades, I chose to focus on what’s always been mine: photography.
Running my own studio gives me the freedom to take on projects, locations, and clients that truly inspire me. That’s when the work flows—unforced, natural, alive. I bring the same hospitality mindset to every job: thoughtful planning, clear communication, and a calm presence. The result is a creative process that feels effortless for you and images that feel unmistakably true.
